Hello and welcome to my site, iDrKavitha! I'm Dr Kavitha, consultant ophthalmologist currently practicing in Hospital Pantai Ayer Keroh, Melaka. In this digital era, it's easier for patients to learn about their conditions even before setting foot inside the clinic. However, it is important to get the right information and it is also equally important to obtain updated information. With the wealth of information available online, it's difficult to differentiate the facts from fictions and truth from tales. Hence, I though it's imperative for me to start website to create awareness, answer questions and to keep readers updated with valuable vision and eye health related information as well as to know me a little better.

I have been in ophthalmology specialty practice for over 10 years, having trained and worked in Malaysia and India. I diagnose, treat and manage all types of eye-related conditions in the young and old, including cataracts and contact lens complication management as well as glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic eye diseases. My niche is in vision correction through cataract and lens implant surgery and medical retina treatments involving laser and anti-VEGF injection therapy.

I embrace comprehensive approach in Ophthalmology and strongly believe in team-based health management. I advocate to promote screening, early detection and management of eye diseases. I'm also passionate about maximizing visual potential through individualized treatment, from simple to complex. I fully understand my patients’ bewilderment in the myriad choices available for vision improvement treatment, and i'm adept in guiding my patients to achieve the best available outcome with evidence-based medicine.

In my efforts of "fighting blindness", I often speak, write articles to educate patient and primary healthcare service providers to screen and detect diseases at early stages to give opportunity for patient for prevent blindness and to achieve best possible outcomes.
